"Greetings and good fortune to you, Elektra,"

“It must be good fortune indeed, for I am once more graced by your presence.”

"Where upon the moment one greets the day they are as if kissed by the frost. A kiss not even the sun can match, for despite its attempts the chill still nips seductively at the skin..."

"Seek her, seduce her, have her, kill her, tame her, blame her. Feast on it all. Beware. For never shall you be denied..."

"There is none whose opinion I hold higher than yours, Iago..."

“I do not offer affections – in falsehood nor truth – without them possessing the meaning to which they are meant for. And I swear tis not the former, but the latter variety, that lingers upon thy lips now as we speak.”

A Gentle Caress

Lips Joining Slowly

One hand trailing after the other...

Sapphire orbs opened suddenly upon hearing a flying snow dove's soft chirp was heard from outside. Their owner blinking slowly in sleep-induced confusion and slight disorientation. It seemed, the Sorceress thought, that once again her desires had felt the need to haunt her dreams. Dreams which were both heaven and hell, pleasuring her and healing her soul with Iago's presence, but consigning her to eternal oblivion and heartache as she woke to find herself, as always, alone.

However, instead of the pangs of loneliness waving over her, somehow, in this moment, she felt... content... though her sleep-addled mind had yet to conjure an answer as to why that was. She wondered if it perhaps had something to do with her dream; a fool's dream in which Iago had sent her roses and a poem before he arrived upon her balcony. Somehow along the way of conversation, one thing lead to another, and feelings, desires, and longings were revealed. A soft smile blanketed her face as she closed her eyes, relieving the sensations of Iago's soft touch caressing her cheek, his strong hands resting lightly upon his hips, his tender, yet passionate kisses...

She sighed softly, shivering lightly from the thought as she turned to flip over the opposite direction to curl into the covers...

...Only to notice that she was not alone as she thought.

Upon waking, Elektra could have sworn she had felt an arm wrapped gently around her waist, yet thought nothing of it. She contributed it as nothing more than a fool's mind clinging to fragments of a foolish dream, and the touch no more than foolish imagination. Now she found herself a fool once more for not trusting herself, for clear as ice, right beside her upon her bed was the man who held all that she was in the palm of her hand.

As all traces of sleep faded from the Sorceress, alertness and memories of previous night flooded her mind: every touch, every kiss, every movement, and every whispered and breathed out word. Everything.

She stared in unguarded adoration at the sleeping sorcerer laying beside her, marveling at ever perfection that composed him, from the way his hair gently cascaded his handsome profile, to the way all sorrows and burdens seemed lifted from his heart and shoulders while he slept, and even the way held her.

The Sorceress had loathed it when Posol had held her. She had loathed many things regarding Posol and the way her touched her, but particularly when he held her. The moments they shared quarters were very rare, moreso occurring during visits to other Nobles, and Posol would insist upon sharing a room with her to conceal the true status of their marriage and his failure in that rather important aspect of married life. However, the rarity did nothing to grasp a good impression, for everything she loathed about the Duke was emphasized in those moments. When he tried to hold her (if it could even be called that) he did so in a suffocating manner, much like a chain, imprisoning her. Far too demanding and forceful. A perfect symbolism of who Posol was in life.

Iago on the other hand... every touch, and every whisper carried more affection than Elektra ever thought was possible, causing her to relish and revel each little action. The way he held her was soft and gentle. Tender, yet protective, just like every bit of affection he bestowed upon her.

She knew very well that all she was doing, all she had done, and all she would do (assuming fate was on their side) was and would be regarded as wrong but... if that was the case, then why did she feel so right? Why did she feel no hesitation, shame, or dishonor in sharing a part of herself with Iago that even her husband, the man who had every right in the world to have it, was not able to obtain from her due to her refusal to comply? If her love for the Sorcerer was so wrong, then why did it bring her so much more happiness, than all that was right?

Unable to resist not seeing the darkly passioned obsidian orbs open, Elektra inched closer to Iago slowly, as to not startle him into awareness, curling into him. Her hand gently brushed the hair out of Iago's face, caressing his features as she did so. She burned the image of a peacefully sleeping Iago into her mind, before closing the remaining distance between them, gently pressing her lips to his.

Iago slept peacefully, his dreamworld a vivid recreation of events prior. It had been difficult to pinpoint his feelings for Elektra, but in this world of dreams there was no need for words. Words only got in the way of emotion such as that. Not to mention it was rather difficult to speak with one’s lips locked to another’s. However, as his mind entered the state between awake and asleep, Iago realized he would have to accept that the dream was entirely that: a scenario thought up by his subconscious mind, and that there was no way a woman of such status as Elektra would have even the slightest of interest in one such as him. His position in the eyes of social status was so much lower than hers. Not even women of his own social status found him of any worth. Then again, it wasn’t like he was trying either.

Her thanks and appreciation of his roses and poem...

Elektra’s excited suggestion he stay longer, and him agreeing to it...

Soft flirtations both given and received.

Her eyes lowered, and he lifted her chin, bringing her lips ever closer to his...

One caress and kiss after another, immediately followed by the hasty removal of her corset...

That was about when his dream had started, if not a bit before. Surely something different must’ve happened, but his journey to Azazel must have tired him out to the point where recollection was impossible. How he would’ve greatly enjoyed it if the dream had been real... Her lips were softer than even the delicate petals of his black roses. To say he hadn’t enjoyed the sensation would’ve been a blasphemy of the worst kind! Add to that the feel of her fingers tangling themselves in his hair... Where there normally would have perhaps been pain there was an intense delight. So intense it made his still-sleeping self shiver, bringing his mind slowly into wakefulness.

The chirping of some sort of bird caused his brow to furrow in curiosity at the noise, but relaxed moments later. His mind showed him an image of his guest chambers within Azazel, and the large windows therein. That was likely where the birdsong had come from. The strange thing was, Iago didn’t even recall unpacking his mother’s music box yet... one of the first things he did upon making himself at home during his stays here.

A gentle caress and the removal of the stray hair from his face made him twitch ever so slightly and then relax into the touch. His mind awakened into a semblance of alertness but his body wanted nothing more than to revel in what he believed to be phantom sensations, remnants of the dream lingering on his skin. But it felt so real. Just to see if he were dreaming, Iago ran his hand along the surface of what he assumed must be a pillow propped vertically beside him. No doubt the pillow was a representation of Elektra, the subject of his dreams. It even had the same scent as he identified with the sorceress.

The curves told him in an instant he was not lying beside a pillow. Did that mean...?

Iago had just begun to open his eyes when soft lips pressed against his in a gentle kiss, causing the onyx orbs to blink closed again and revel in the moment. But he’d seen in that brief instant that what he’d thought had been a dream was anything but. Elektra was by his side, beneath the blankets and curled up as close to him as possible. And they were in vaguely familiar territory, but it certainly wasn’t his usual guest chambers. Where had their union taken place? He was fairly certain it was a bed they were on, and wherever they were Iago was certain it was a private location. Memories of every touch, every word, and even every breath from the night before flooded his mind in waves of contented bliss.

Her chambers. The balcony had to have been an extension of Elektra’s personal chambers.

Without the least bit of hesitation, the sorcerer fully participated in the kiss. Hands caressed yet held the sorceress in a slightly tighter embrace. A part of him that never thought he’d find love was now enlightened: he yearned for Elektra’s affections, and to prove that he could love back despite having made it appear he was less than interested in anything of this nature in the past. So concentrated was he on Yorick’s downfall – a feat that still needed accomplishing – that Iago rarely sought out what his heart wished. But now... now he indulged in what desires hidden for a year have finally brought to the surface.

As Iago slowly reopened his eyes, he prayed that his mind had not been toying with him the whole time.

PostSubject: Re: Elektra's Private Sitting Room and Bedroom   Sat Jan 16, 2010 4:29 am

Was this truly happening? Had all her wishes for once, come true? Surely the Gods would not have been so kind. The Sorceress wondered if perhaps everything that had occurred the previous night, and what was happening at this very moment was no more than the epitome of a foolish, pathetic dream carried unto a hallucination. However, as Iago returned her kiss, his hands trailing through her in an embrace. Sparks lingering from the night before ignited once more within Elektra, taking the shape of a warm ember, building with each and every touch into another flame threatening to consume her once more, just as it had last night, leaving her yearning for more.

She reveled in the feeling of being so near to Iago, tangled into him. Never had she thought feeling this way could ever be possible; that she could feel this way for someone, or that someone could invoke such emotion from within her. In fact, Elektra even recalled one of the very first lessons her Mother ever taught her: To be a child of a King, particularly a daughter, is to be denied happiness. You are responsible for happiness and prosperity, yet it bears no debt to you. It matters not if a woman lives her life devoid of any joy or happiness, as long as she fulfills her duty, bring happiness to her husband.

How foolish such logic was, the Sorceress now thought and knew.

All it took was one pair of eyes to witness the changes in Elektra and Iago's relationship, and it would be their undoing. All they had strived towards and worked for would be lost. And yet... locked within Iago's arms, Elektra found it difficult to even attempt to care of the ramifications of their actions. After years of loneliness, years of longing, years of feeling nothing but hollowed emptiness, yearning and dreaming of Iago, what else could she do but revel in and cherish the moment?

After all both of them had been through, what they have overcome, and what they still face, surely they deserved at least a moment of happiness, if nothing more?

Nothing but unguarded adoration and love illuminated Elektra's eyes as she watched Iago slowly awaken. One gently caressed his cheek as she pressed a soft kiss to the corner of the Sorcerer’s mouth.

"Good Morning..." she whispered as one of her fingers began lightly tracing Iago's lips.

If only every morning could begin this way...

If only every morning could begin this way, indeed...

As Elektra pressed a kiss to the corner of his mouth, so too did Iago kiss a corner of hers. Mentally he thanked whatever deity that would listen for the reality of the situation. Only in his wildest dreams did the sorcerer believe he stood any sort of chance as being a man of interest to Elektra’s heart. Certainly, they were friends... but she far outranked him to even be considered an appropriate suitor or lover. What hope had he had, before the night prior, that she would see in him more than being a sorcerer? More than a baron’s son that ought to have died, yet by some miracle was allowed to live not once – but twice? He would not risk either of them losing the powers they’d become accustomed to holding, yet at the same time greatly desired this newfound happiness. In his way of thinking, they deserved this moment. After all he had faced, and would continue to face, Iago felt he deserved to just be left alone in his own little world with Elektra... whom he was sure also had her share of ordeals lived through and ones yet to be experienced.

”A Very Good Morning...” he replied softly, just a bit above a whisper. A semi-groggy smile played about his lips as her fingertips traced them. The flesh she touched was set afire by a passion that had died down just long enough for them to rest, and was now being rekindled. His eyes seemed much more awake than the rest of his countenance, though they were rather busy taking in the sights of the room... particularly the sight of the woman beside him. Her now-messy hair cascading down and around her pale skin was a stark and beautiful contrast that not even Iago’s own features could match. The cosmetics she’d applied the day before were also slightly askew from sleep and their activities. Yet, despite it all, the sorcerer still thought the woman the most beautiful of the female species upon this earth.

The sorcerer’s eyes glimmered with a mixture of emotions and feelings: love, wonderment, happiness, and contentment. Some of them had rarely, if ever, graced his features until after their night together, particularly the contentment and the brand of love he felt for the sorceress. Iago shifted for to become even more entangled with her, the backs of his fingers gently caressing her cheek before cupping her chin in his hand much as he had the day previous. His thumb traced her lower lip and the space between it and her chin.

”Didst thou sleep well?” he asked curiously, though there was more to his words than their obvious meanings.

Despite being completely at ease entwined with her as he was, Iago couldn’t help but be concerned as to who had access to enter Elektra’s chambers. It took only one eye to see the difference in their behaviors, and one mouth to start a wildfire of rumor. Once he became the Baron of Danothos, things could be different. But for now... it would be a scandal for him, Danothos’s ambassador, to be caught in the bed of Azazel’s Duchess. With some private humor, Iago mused that this was a delightful way to improve relations with Azazel indeed... even though politics had absolutely nothing to do with last night’s ‘adventure’ of sorts.

While it was several hours away from even considering retiring for the night, the sorcerer wondered where he would take his lodgings this next time: in his own private guest chambers, or if he’d once again be seeing the ornate designs of these quarters. Truth be told, so long as Elektra was near, Iago felt he could be content lodging just about anywhere.

It was a common misconception about Royals that they were the greatest in the land; handpicked by the Gods themselves. While neither Elektra nor any born to nobility or royalty would admit it, they honestly were more or less simply born lucky. However, the definition of lucky could very well be debated. When the Sorceress had been naught but a young child, indoctrinated under Father's wing, raised to be a Queen, there were times, a few that gradually increased as the years passed as her supposed destiny seemed to have been annihilated, that she wished she wasn't a Kohva, and that she was no more than the maids who served her. They, she mused during an era not too long after Adrastos had died, seemed to have complete freedom. If they so wished, they could very well abolish their corsets, throw away their cosmetics, hell, walk wherever they so desired without anyone batting an eye, while even every step the Sorceress took was watched and critiqued to the finish. Not only was a Royal denied happiness, but freedom as well. The moment one is born, she is not an infant, but property. She is not her parent's daughter, but a daughter of her country, to be used however it deemed fit in the game of politics and dominance; born to use, not to live.

Her heartbeat quickened at Iago's reply, the smile upon Iago's face practically bewitching one of her's to follow. She gazed in awe and adoration at the man she was convinced was perfection itself. Despite their night together and all that had transpired, the Sorceress couldn't help but feel a bit self-conscious about her appearance, particularly her hair and eyes. At this point, her hair was most likely tousled and messy and the traditional charcoal, Carakleinian eyeliner was probably in need of a adjustment. Part of Elektra wanted to take the opportunity to step out for a bit to rearrange herself, while the other couldn't seem to pull away from Iago. Torn, Elektra finally opted to simply ignore the situation and dispel further thoughts and inhibitions she had at that moment, for although the self-consciousness still lingered, she wasn't keen on the idea of that interfering what was one of, if not the best morning of her life.

Elektra stared in awe at the glimmer and myriad of emotions within Iago's orbs, marveling at how they attractively graced his features. It was humbling and thrilling to know that those emotions were for her, and all that she had ever felt for the Sorcerer were reciprocated, in more ways than one. She sighed softly in happiness as he shifted to entangle the two of them further, closing her eyes in pleasure at Iago's caress. Her heart fluttered within her chest and her breath quickened slightly as she felt the embers she knew not to exist until the previous night, rekindled in warm, provocative flames begging to consume once more. The Sorceress relished the touch upon her chin, much like the touch the night before that had started it all, from sparks to warm embers, to dark, passionate fire, and finally sated, but burning, flames. As she felt the touch of his thumb upon her lower lip, she tilted her head slightly, leaning into his touch and pressing a lingering kiss upon the digit.

A smile illuminated her features, followed by a light blush. "With thy presence in my heart, by my side, in my bed, how could I not?" she replied gently as she continued caressing his features, pressing a kiss every so often. "What of thou?"

This night had meant much to the Sorceress, serving as an end to one era and, with the Gods willing, the beginning to another. An end to the era of longing, loneliness, and unrequited love, and the beginning of another, mysterious, yet most certainly happier era. Unknown, yes, but one Elektra was more than willing to explore with Iago by her side. Resting her head lightly against his chest, she curled into the feeling of absolute bliss and heaven she found in his arms before softly uttering, in a voice barely above a whisper. "Thank you..."

Onyx orbs took in the expressions and emotions on Elektra’s face, enchanted by what he saw. Of course, memories of the night prior equally amazed him, for he hadn’t thought it possible for someone of his alleged humble beginnings, and even one at such a rank as he’d been at birth, to even come close to being loved by a princess. Or Duchess, as she was now known. While the world placed her upon one pedestal, Iago felt she deserved her former rank of Princess... if not rule Azazel as a Queen. And it was more than just the aftermath of their previous night talking: it was his heart.

Iago did not see himself perfect, but saw perfection in every inch of Elektra. How was it that none had desired her in her year of widowhood? Unless they felt themselves unworthy standing in her presence... which was on more than one occasion how he felt. Yet, she had willingly accepted him despite his flaws.

A soft smile accented the sorcerer’s features at the affection reciprocated. Not once to his recollection had he ever loved another as he loved the sorceress at his side... a dangerous thrill, to be sure: every bit of him seemed alive, yet at the same time he knew the dangers of giving over one’s heart so completely. Her lingering kiss upon his thumb sent a spark of the dark flames they’d been engulfed in last night all throughout his being. It was quite tempting indeed to allow impulse to take over and love her all over again, but she no doubt had business to attend to what with the upcoming ball and thus he quieted the urges of his heart. For now.

While one of the features he adored about Elektra was her complexion being as white as snow, Iago couldn’t help but find the sudden coloring upon her cheeks attractive, especially when coupled with the smile she gave him. At her words, however, it was his turn to color similarly. His smile widened at the returned question, to which he could only reply with, ”The same as thee: with thy presence nigh entirely entwined with mine, t’was as if heaven showed itself unto me long before I am to truly meant see it. How could I not sleep well, being in such bliss with thou at my side and in my heart?”

His mind wandered in regards to precisely where this one night that was surely the best of all his nights would lead. It held no purpose in overthrowing the Baron, something he’d been groomed and trained to do since his attempted murder, and it felt extremely wonderful! If only the time of serving the Baron had reached its end already... but alas. Regardless, Iago considered this turning point a new age: one of hopefully far happier memories than the last one. Not that the past one had been depressing... It merely didn’t have this new development. With Elektra willing, he wanted to investigate where their new path would lead them.

The feel of Elektra’s head resting against him made Iago tilt his head slightly towards hers, savoring the feeling of simply being with another without having to worry about diplomacy or making a political misstep. True, when in private with Elektra, the sorcerer did act more like himself... but this was quite a bit different. Iago was more than just himself in this moment. He had opened his heart to the woman that had been in his dreams even before he’d actually met her... showed her the way to his very soul, it seemed...

Curiosity flickered through his mind as to why she was thanking him, but dispelled the notion just as quickly. He could’ve mistranslated her words... but he was fairly certain he’d heard her correctly. Regardless, Iago gave Elektra a light embrace so as not to disturb her from her place entangled with him upon her bed. ”I love thee, Elektra...” he whispered, then sighed. ”... Where from here shall we go upon our path?” In truth he sincerely wished to have the latest development in their relationship continue, going wherever it led them. But yet he also feared what would happen if anyone found out before he took control over Danothos, for his alleged social standing at present surely would not give him status enough for it to not become a scandal.

PostSubject: Re: Elektra's Private Sitting Room and Bedroom   Sat Apr 03, 2010 6:09 pm

As Elektra stared into Iago's onyx orbs, she wondered how it was that in all of the years no woman had claimed or desired Iago. Did they not notice the air or power and might he carried? Did they not see the kind, tenderness he bestowed upon others? Were they doomed to only see Iago the Ambassador and Sorcerer, and not Iago the Man? Regardless, Elektra could honestly care less about the other women. If they could not see the man Iago truly was then the more fools them, she thought.

The soft smile illuminating his face was more than enough to set the spark of the dark flames that had consumed them both last night until they were both laying deliciously sated in exhaustion had returned. With her lips still pressed against his thumb, she bit down lightly, nibbling the digit teasingly. Years of solitude had left her ignorant of a few rather important aspects of life, but now that she had been enlightened she wanted nothing more than an encore, more detailed "lesson". However, while she had forsaken much of the lessons of her upbringing, particularly ones regarding chastity, one lesson still lingered: duty before pleasure. Remembering the rather lengthy agenda for the day and the preparations still needed for the ball, Elektra halted on her advances. For now. Tonight, if Iago was willing, would be a rather different story...

She couldn't help but add the new tinge of color that appeared upon Iago's face unto the list of reasons why she loved him, as the smile he gave her and the eloquent, heartfelt words sent her heart beating into overdrive. She knew not how to respond verbally to such words of eloquence and emotions, so she responded the easiest and, in her opinion, best way to reply; leaning closer over Iago, with locks of her raven hair brushing Iago slightly, she kissed him slowly, passionately, and deeply, attempting to show Iago in that single kiss just exactly what she felt for him.

Happily entwined within Iago's embrace, the Sorceress couldn't help but wander on what would happen once all of this fully entwined itself back to reality and they would have to hide behind their masks of formalities and titles once more. Her's being 'Duchess' and his being "Ambassador/Sorcerer". While she would welcome all affection and intimacy with Iago, she couldn't help but pessimistically wonder how it would all come to play. Their roles in society, as well as their rather long distances of residency would surely cause problems in their future. Could their love overcome it all?

A warming, icy chill coursed through her at Iago’s declaration of love as she too whispered the same declaration. An indescribable feeling of happiness filled her knowing that those three spoken words were spoken for each other, and only for each other. At his question, she frowned slightly, not entirely sure how to answer it, for truth be told, she didn't know the answer herself. She shifted once more from her comfortable position against Iago so that she may make eye contact.

"Iago, I have loved thee for so long. How many years I've longed to be the one you see, the one you hear, how long I've dreamt of you, your touch, your kisses, to be yours forevermore, I know not. Far too long, I feel.."

"Now that I have thee and know that thy love matches mine, I can not release thee, and forget all that has happen. Iago, I care not about the risks, nor the repercussions that may arise. I want thee and love thee, and shall til beyond my last breath."
she leaned closer to whisper into Iago's ear, much as he had the night previously when he reassured her of the trueness of his emotions.

"I give thee my destiny..." she pressed a light kiss to the side of his neck, entwining one of her hands with his. "I give thee all of me, if thou will have me..."

PostSubject: Re: Elektra's Private Sitting Room and Bedroom   Fri May 21, 2010 5:00 pm

Dark pools of liquid obsidian widened slightly, the ebony eyebrow above shifting in time with the twitch of the eye itself at the enticing gesture from his newfound love. How he wished his era of learning, cramming volumes of information into his head, had been better spent learning of Caraklein and perhaps courting the Duchess instead... even attempting to save her from the clutches of Posol. But alas, it had not been meant to be in such a fashion. She had given her former husband his due; an impressive piece of magic if he dared say so himself.

And now Iago had Elektra: by her declarations, her words, and her actions. It was only a shame that Iago had not lain eyes and fancy upon her sooner. A terrible shame, he noted as the embers of their night previous were being rekindled by their interactions. Her halt on advancing further made him curious, but came to the conclusion that she must have realized a rather full agenda was in store for the day ahead. There was the ball to prepare for, after all... to ‘honor’ her departed husband. Iago found himself honoring Posol only for the fact that his death paved the way for Iago to reach out for the woman he wanted. The woman, he was learning rather quickly, that he needed above any other in this world. In fact, he didn’t really care at all about most women, the obvious exception being his father/child type of friendship with the servant girl, Lyra, whom Elektra had yet to meet. But that was indeed a stallion of another color.

Not realizing he and Elektra were thinking along the same lines, Iago halted on his own advances. That evening, however, would be an entirely different matter provided the pair of them could slip away unseen.

Her hair trailing in seductive whispers across his skin... the scent of her more intoxicating than the strongest drink made by man... and that kiss: achingly slow at first, but deep and with such passion that it, simply put, took the sorcerer’s breath away and fueled the love and adoration he held for her. How he wished they could both forsake the ball and spend the entire day entangled together, giving a whole new meaning to what a ‘lover’s knot’ truly was! What Elektra gave unto him, Iago accepted and returned just as amorously.

At first, the sorcerer contemplated that her moving away from him might’ve meant he said something to endanger the blissful aftermath of their union. Although, upon gazing further into the azure pools and listening to the words she murmured, Iago learned otherwise. It didn’t detract from the moment, but rather added to it. It personally amazed him that she would throw everything away simply to be with and loved by him. If it came right down to it, would he too forsake ramifications for courting a Duchess? He did want her, need her, and love her... What the people thought of him really had nothing to do with his eventual rise to Baron...

Yes – he could easily join her in ignoring any repercussions that arose, in the event someone found out and opened their mouths. Yet, Yorick’s possible interference could be potentially threatening in the event word ever got to him...

A tingle of delight coursed through Iago just because she leaned closer, though the sparks intensified as he took in her words. Being in love with Elektra made Iago feel truly, magnificently alive. Her whispers breathed life into him like knowledge and thoughts of grandeur had not. Her kiss sent delighted shivers down his spine, the skin her lips caressed feeling as though it were on fire with flames dark and ravenous for more to join it in consuming him until she was all he thought of.

“Elektra...” he whispered, all too happy to lace his fingers with hers again. However, Iago realized he wasn’t quite sure what it was he wanted to say. “Provided thou shalt also have me... then we shall have each other,” the sorcerer replied before beginning a trail of kisses up her neck. “Once my Baron is dead... and I claim his rule... none shall come between us...”
